In Loving Memory of Stephen Lawrence Byron

Stephen Lawrence Byron, born on July 6, 1967, at Bridgeport Hospital in Bridgeport, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2024. Steve's life was marked by his incredible kindness, compassion, and dedication to his family, friends, and career.


Early Life and Education

Stephen grew up in Stratford, Connecticut, where he attended Stonybrook School for elementary education, Wooster Junior High for middle school, and Bunnell High School for high school. His academic journey continued at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, Connecticut, where he graduated with a degree that laid the foundation for his successful professional career.


Professional Life

Stephen’s professional life was as impressive as it was impactful. He served as the 1st Vice President and Head of Underwriting at K-Star (KKR), a role in which he exemplified leadership, dedication, and a commitment to excellence. His colleagues remember him as a mentor and an unwavering source of support, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer sage advice.


Legacy and Character

Stephen leaves behind a remarkable legacy of professionalism, kindness, and dedication. Known for his integrity and generosity, he touched the lives of many with his selfless nature. Stephen’s achievements in the corporate world stand as a testament to his hard work and leadership. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him, as he brought love and joy into the lives of his family, friends, and colleagues. He will be deeply missed but remembered fondly for the lasting impact he had on those around him.


Stephen's Loved Ones 

Stephen was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, survived by:

  • Father: Richard Byron Sr.
  • Mother: Sheila Byron
  • Brother: Richard Byron Jr. (and wife Lori Marchio Byron)
  • Nephews: Justin Byron (and his wife Kerri Byron) and Evan Byron (and his wife Ali Julian)
  • Great Niece and Nephew: Aria Byron and Hunter Byron
  • Aunt June Dean and Cousin Darlene Calouri (and her husband Peter Calouri)
  • Uncle Larry and Aunt Denise Byron, and Cousins Jason Byron (and his wife Krista) and Tracy Byron Casey (and her husband Mike Casey)
  • Steve was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas Byron and Kathleen Byron.


Legacy and Character

Stephen leaves behind a remarkable legacy defined by professionalism, kindness, and dedication. His compassionate and selfless nature touched the lives of many. Known for his integrity and generosity, Steve provided unwavering support to those around him. His memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.


Stephen Lawrence Byron's passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of his family, friends, and colleagues. His legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will continue to inspire us all. We will honor his memory and cherish the joy he brought into our lives.


A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 18th, from 6 PM to 9 PM at the Dallas Athletic Club. All who knew and loved Steve are invited to join us in remembering and celebrating his remarkable life.
